IF IT IS TO BE IT IS UP TO ME

The Adderall Effect – Tomorrow Has Arrived Today

There is a moment, a singular quiet turning point where you realize that tired has become your default setting. It isn’t just physical exhaustion; it’s a heavy, mental fog that makes even the simplest tasks feel like mountains.

I’ve been there for far too long and its only recently that I realized I was coasting through my days rather than living them. This shift in thought started evolving over the past ten weeks thanks to a new medication called Adderall.

Looking back at these past ten weeks, I can confidently say that this medication has been the catalyst for everything that has followed. I call it “The Adderall Effect” … the moment the fog finally lifted.

In my professional life, the change has been profound. Communication is no longer a struggle to anchor my attention or a constant battle against internal noise. My focus is deeper, my drive is back, and I finally feel capable of being the leader I’ve always wanted to be. By clearing the mental clutter, I’m finally showing up for my team with the intention and presence they deserve.

This internal clarity didn’t stay confined to the office; it bled into my personal life, allowing me to take the steps I had been putting off for months. I moved into a new apartment, implemented a number of healthy routines, like more walking and eating healthier. I don’t feel as tired anymore.

The Beauty of the Little Things

Perhaps the most surprising outcome of this transition is how my relationship with small tasks has changed. We all have that internal list of minor chores, the ones we constantly, habitually push to tomorrow.

I’ve stopped pushing.

The medication has provided the drive I was previously missing, allowing me to engage with my environment rather than being overwhelmed by it. Whether it’s organizing my desk, taking a walk with my dog, or simply clearing the counter, these actions are now creating a sense of momentum.

I’ve stopped waiting for later and I’m present in the now.

Have you ever found a tool or a change that helped you reclaim your presence and focus?

Please note that everyone’s reaction to medication is unique. I am not here to recommend this medication to anyone but just writing about my personal experience with it
